I had the best car buying experience with Max. BEST customer service!!! He's very professional and a trustworthy guy and has a servant-hood heart. He wants to make sure that his customer is satisfied with the car buying experience. He did all the paperwork with no charge unlike the other car dealership which charge you from $300-600. He even helped me to go to DMV to pay for my tag and other charges. It made it all easy for me. I'm glad that I found him on Craigslist. We were in the market for a Toyota RAV4 for our daughter and came across Max’s ad on Craigslist. I texted the contact number in the ad and Max responded right away and met us on a Sunday afternoon to test drive the vehicle. This was the first RAV4 that we looked at and told Max that we would get back with him. We looked at several other RAV4’s and none were as clean and maintained as well as his vehicle. The price was also very reasonable compared to other dealers and private party sellers. After talking with Max, my wife and I realized that he was also from Durham and we happened to know his dad who is a well respected photographer. After looking at several other RAV4’s, I contacted Max again. This time it was on a Thursday evening and Max responded right away and met us to take a second look at his vehicle. After our second look, we decided we would like to proceed with purchasing the RAV4. The next day Max met us to complete our transaction. Max is a very nice guy, and we are glad that we found him and got a great car for the Valentine's Day. Normally we would prefer to buy a car from private owners because it will save us some money and is more reliable to deal with people who do not sell cars for living. However, the quality of those cars actually vary a lot. We found Max and his car on Craigslist, a 3 years old off-lease Camry that matches perfectly with our expectation. At first we were skeptical about off-lease cars and buying one from a local dealer. But after inspecting the car in person, my husband and I agreed that the car is in good shape and Max was very straightforward and nice to talk to. He is open and cheerful, also helpful in providing suggestions, profile and paperwork of the car, etc. Yes, he actually helped us to put the new plate on. What a full set of premium service! LOL! We like him. Max said he is operating the business by himself, so he won't charge the dealer fee, just to offer a more affordable price to customers. And he is focused on the off-lease vehicles of Toyota. It's a great decision and Toyota's are very durable in terms of the performance. One good thing about those off-lease cars from Max is that Toyota was in charge of the maintenance during the lease period, and the manufacturer warranty remains until the mileage hits 60,000 miles or 5 years, whichever comes first. In return of the good car, fair market price and the service we got from Max, we would like to support his single man business by leaving this all star review. He deserves this. We’ve all heard men won’t ask for directions! Well some men won’t ask for advice either. I found this to be true when my husband was looking for a previously owned Toyota Tacoma.
